In Imminent Mysteries, artists Peggy Fox and Janet Wittenberg probe ephemeral phenomena and underlying forces of the physical world around us in search of connections and unifying threads. Through an array of mixed media paintings, prints and glass sculptures, they forge dynamic visual bridges between the invisible and visible as well as the known and unknown. With perpetual change as a guiding paradigm, the works make manifest the power of now, a hidden reservoir of untold potential and imminent fragility.

Hill Center Galleries hosts the work of six featured artists and six continuing artists during a new exhibition that runs through June 22, 2013. Hill Center will host a Reception with the Artists at 6 p.m. on May 15, 2013.
Ranging from painting, photography, watercolor and more, the artists offer variety of artwork that ranges in topic from baseball to science and physics to flowers.
Peggy Fox brings her series “Particles” to Hill Center. Fox exchanges a career in photography for a rekindled interest in abstraction and exploration of the point where physics and eastern philosophy intersect. Many of her pieces feature transparency mounted on metal.
“These images, particles, or pearls tossed across the cosmos, wonderlands of theoretical poetry, are an attempt to translate theory into poetic imagery,” says Fox. “These images are not illustrations; rather they explore statements such as ‘quantum theory is based on the idea that probability plays a governing role in the universe’ or ‘there is no such thing as absolute time.’”
